The Gig Worker’s Collective called for strike action to commence and Canadians answered the call!

The Gig Worker’s Collective organized a strike in-part due to the collapse in payments provided to Shoppers from fees Instacart collects from customers. The GWC laid out five simple demands:
- Pay per order, not batch
- Reintroduction of Item commission
- Occupational death benefits
- No longer penalizing shoppers for issues outside their control
- 10% default tips on all orders
